Before --> Now!
Updated: Sep 28, 2018
I would title this post "Before --> After", but let's be honest, you are never finished with projects around the house. Whether you tear down to the studs as we did, or move into a turn-key new build home, I've realized that your honey-do list is never empty! From big 'now' projects (like siding, finishing the master bath), to smaller 'when-we-have-time-on-a-rainy-day' projects (eventually wainscoting and wallpaper in the dinning room) ... I'm pretty confident that we will never be at a true "after" point.
While we may always have items to knock-out on that list, we have gotten to a place where we are comfortably living in this home and, let me tell you, there is no better feeling! So, enjoy this walk back through memory lane and see how far this project has come!
Kitchen - well we didn't keep the yellow from the original kitchen, we decided on a neutral design that would allow us to use pops of color to decorate (hello counter stools!!)! I always envisioned a kitchen with a big island for fresh flowers!
Main Floor Bathroom - one of the rooms where we are displaying the signs found on our home under the siding, it makes a much classier statement than the hot pink tile!
Formal Living Room - be on the lookout for us to share our reclaimed antique furniture that will be in this room! Should be getting it this weekend (fingers crossed!!)
Formal Dining Room - for all the formal dinners we throw. But in all seriousness, this antique dining set might convince us to be dinner party people.
Grand Staircase (to be finished in the medium brown stain as out main floor)
Master Bathroom - the salvaged 1882 clawfoot really makes a statement piece!
Upstairs Hallway - exposed the Douglas Fir wood floors, original brick chimney at the end of the hall...this space designed itself!
Family Room and Kitchen- sorry, only "now" pictures from this area. This is the addition portion of our main floor, we don't have great before shots but I had to share how cozy and homey it looks now!
